RILEY ROSA multidisciplinary artist and shapeshifter
I am a multidisciplinary artist with a passion for quilts and self portraits. I aim to avoid the expectations of those in power by giving value to the parts of ourselves we are told are untrustworthy, like dreams and inner thoughts. These works often highlight the mundane issues of reality, like having itchy eyes and stupid boyfriends. I embrace my roots of photography, performance, and fabrication while utilizing new media such as 3D modeling, code, and moving image. My work is fearless and full of characters: one who's constantly banned from Twitter, an activist who calls for fixing climate by making ice, and a Youtuber who cries over cold taquitos. My lack of a single, static persona frees me to shapeshift into whatever the task at hand may require and see problems with a fresh perspective.
I am a recent graduate of Stevens Institute of Technology in Hoboken, NJ, majored in Visual Arts and Technology with a concentration in Moving Images.
